About Stuart Kritzer

Stuart Kritzer was born in New York City and started working at 12 as a golf caddy, housepainter and gas station attendant. When he was 18 and a freshman at Lehigh University, he began substitute teaching at Barringer High School in Newark, N.J. while home on vacation. He worked his way through college and Seton Hall University School of Law by waiting tables, working in a foundry, driving a taxi in New York City, and teaching seventh graders. Later, while still in law school attending night classes, he spent four years teaching juvenile delinquent high school boys in New York City where he’d start each day by frisking his students for weapons.

After graduating from law school, he moved to Colorado in 1973, without having a job or knowing anyone, and began his legal career. At the same time, he became a “Big Brother” to George, a ten year old living in the Stapleton Projects with his mother and four sisters, whom he mentored and helped support through public school and college. Thirty five years later, George continues to work with at-risk children through the California court system and they remain close.

In addition to his law practice, Stuart is a sought-after motivational speaker and success strategist for real estate, insurance and law firm audiences. His outside interests include real estate and banking, performing community service through board memberships and on an individual basis, and he has given generously through the family foundation he created. For two years in a row, without any group affiliation and at their own expense, he and a good friend traveled to New Orleans where they spent a week each trip gutting and rebuilding flood-ravaged houses through the program run by the Episcopal Diocese of New Orleans.  Married to Janet for 30 years, he’s the father of 3 children and enjoys reading, travel, movies, riding his motorcycle, spinning, boxing and generally trying to stay fit when he’s not able to do what he loves best – being with Janet and their three children!
